Dotson
attempts in his original stage piece to contrast the mental madness of
the 21st century with this perennial concept of pure being . . . (The
lead character's) combined anxieties are exacerbated by an apparent
addiction to his laptop and cell phone, which he can't seem to put down
in spite of the fact that he is surrounded by the beauty and
tranquility of nature in New York's Central Park. .. [This is shown
through] an artistically rewarding multi-media experience of the park,
with appealing images and sounds along with clever staging of cell
phone conversations behind scrims . . .
Carratello's
"Chante" added spark to the show as the patient friend back at
[Galileo's] apartment trying to solve the parrot problem [Euclid, the
parrot, was annoying everyone with its car alarm imitations].
