SPECIAL CASE

Mohoidae Hawaiian Honeyeaters

This is still considered a valid Family but all members were extinct by 1987.

As a valid but EXTINCT family, the Mohoidae is no longer included among the list of current bird families

proposed by Barker et al. (2013), accepted by AOS, IOC & Clements for a decade, but merged with Icteridae by Avilist (2025)
